On the role of collisions with meteoroids in splitting and acceleration of heliocentric velocity of comets

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2020
The hypothesis on the role of the meteoroid impacts in the comet nuclei splitting as well as acceleration of their heliocentric velocity are considered.

Light‐Switched Mesenchymal Stem Cells for In Situ Exosome Amplification in Craniofacial Bone Defect Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Light‐switchable MSCs (MSC‐UCNPs) were constructed by intracellular incorporation of UCNPs. Upon 980 nm irradiation, UCNPs emitted localized ultraviolet light (365 nm), activating the ROS/HEXB/LAMP1 signaling pathway to suppress lysosome–multivesicular body fusion and thereby enhance exosome biogenesis. Embedded within an injectable hydrogel, MSC‐UCNPs

Evaluation of the genotoxicity of some standart and eco-friendly detergents with Vicia faba

open access: yesCaryologia, 2021
The increasing use of detergents as a result of rapid increase of population and irregular industrialization has a big role in the environmental pollution.

Comet Nuclei Composition and Evolution

open access: yes
Thanks to Rosetta orbiter's and Philae lander's data our knowledge of cometary nuclei composition has experienced a great advancement. The properties of 67P/CG nucleus are discussed and compared with other comets explored in the past by space missions.

Dielectric Elastomer Actuators as Safe and Effective Tools for Mechanostimulation of Human Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Replicating physiological forces is crucial for realistic cell models. Dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) offer a soft alternative, though their high voltages raised toxicity concerns. We demonstrate that DEA stimulation causes no cell damage, cell death or cell‐cycle disruption, while activating mechanosensitive responses.

Evaluation of genotoxic activity of maleic hydrazide, ethyl methane sulfonate, and N-nitroso diethylamine in Tradescantia

open access: yesSalud Pública de México, 2001
Objective. To assess the genotoxic activity of N-nitroso diethylamine (NDEA), maleic hydrazide (MH), and ethyl methane sulfonate (EMS) using two systems: the comet assay on nuclei from Tradescantia, and the pink mutation test on Tradescantia staminal ...

Redistribution of DNA loop domains in human lymphocytes under blast transformation with interleukin 2 [PDF]

open access: yesThe Ukrainian Biochemical Journal, 2016
At higher order levels chromatin fibers in interphase nuclei are organized into loop domains. Gene regulatory elements (promoters and enhancers) are often located near the sites of loop attachments.

Visualizing Specific Tubulin Isotypes and Pathogenic Variants in Cellular Microtubule Arrays

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Eukaryotic cells depend on dynamic microtubule arrays to execute a wide range of functions vital for life. These microtubule filaments are formed through the polymerization of α/β‐tubulin proteins, which can be generated from numerous tubulin genes, or isotypes.

Hubble Space Telescope Observations of the Interstellar Interloper 3I/ATLAS

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
We present high-angular-resolution observations of the third known interstellar interloper, 3I/ATLAS, from the Hubble Space Telescope. The object is clearly active at 3.8 au preperihelion, showing dust emitted from the hot, Sun-facing side of the nucleus

Six Outbursts of Comet 46P/Wirtanen

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal, 2021
Cometary activity is a manifestation of sublimation-driven processes at the surface of nuclei. However, cometary outbursts may arise from other processes that are not necessarily driven by volatiles.
