Impact contribution of prebiotic reactants to Earth [PDF]
It is proposed that the AIB amino acid at the K/T boundary were synthesized during entry of a comet. However, whether they were synthesized or supplied directly from space, the concentration of amino acids in the shallow K/T sea would have been about 10 ...

Investigating the Cytoskeleton of DRGs Using Cryo‐Electron Microscopy and Deep Learning
ABSTRACT We describe a method for determining the ultrastructural organization of axons and varicosities of cultured dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons using cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo‐EM). Cryo‐EM reveals the dimensions, proximity, and overall organization of biological specimens in a near‐native state, avoiding artifacts of fixation and ...

Comets in Australian Aboriginal Astronomy
We present 25 accounts of comets from 40 Australian Aboriginal communities, citing both supernatural perceptions of comets and historical accounts of bright comets.

Isotopic and Micro-Raman investigation of Interplanetary Dust Particles Collected during 2003 Earth passage through Comet Grigg-Skjellerup Dust Stream [PDF]
We report microscale H and N isotopic and Raman spectral data for IDPs collected in April 2003. The samples show extreme D and 15N enrichments carried by very primitive organic matter.

It is suggested that a potential source of C3 observed in comets is the photodissociation of propyne by solar radiation, most probably in the region of the strong 1216-A Lyman-alpha line. The possibility of a strong correlation between interstellar molecules and the stable parent cometary molecules is also considered.

Visualizing Specific Tubulin Isotypes and Pathogenic Variants in Cellular Microtubule Arrays
ABSTRACT Eukaryotic cells depend on dynamic microtubule arrays to execute a wide range of functions vital for life. These microtubule filaments are formed through the polymerization of α/β‐tubulin proteins, which can be generated from numerous tubulin genes, or isotypes.

Primordial Origin of Methane on Eris and Makemake Supported by D/H Ratios
Deuterium, a heavy isotope of hydrogen, is a key tracer of the formation of the solar system. Recent James Webb Space Telescope observations have expanded the data set of deuterium-to-hydrogen (D/H) ratios in methane on the KBOs Eris and Makemake ...

Presolar Grains from Novae: Evidence from Neon and Helium Isotopes in Comet Dust Collections
Presolar grains in meteorites and interplanetary dust particles (IDPs) carry non-solar isotopic signatures pointing to origins in supernovae, giant stars, and possibly other stellar sources. There have been suggestions that some of these grains condensed

The detection of toxins in baby food using artificial intelligence. ABSTRACT Infant foods and baby formulas are becoming increasingly popular across the globe owing to their ease of consumption and nutritional value specific to infants. Impurities may find their way into the food chain at any point from the acquisition of raw materials to final ...

The Role of Ammonia in the Distribution of Volatiles in the Primordial Hydrosphere of Europa
The presence of a hydrosphere on Europa raises questions about its habitability, and studies of its volatile inventory can provide insight into its formation process. Different scenarios suggest that Europa's volatiles could be derived from cometary ices
