Effect of age class on the survivorship and spatial movement patterns of headstarted Texas horned lizards soft‐released into an urban population

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, EarlyView.
When compared to resident lizards of the corresponding age class, juvenile headstarted Texas horned lizards soft‐released into an urban population exhibited more favorable responses to short‐term translocation objectives (i.e., daily movement rates, home range sizes, and survival rates) than did conspecifics headstarted to the adult age class ...

Creating a Masterpiece. The Road to (and Beyond) Woodward and Hoffmann's 1969 Angewandte Chemie Treatise

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, EarlyView.
This publication describes how R. B. Woodward and Roald Hoffmann crafted their masterpiece publications. Illustrations include Woodward's first draft of the famous “Violations There are none. Multistressor Interaction of Perfluorooctane Sulfonate (PFOS) and Temperature in Two Estuarine Fish Species, Red Drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) and Sheepshead Minnow (Cyprinodon variegatus)

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS), a perfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS), is characterized by a long, fluorinated carbon chain which makes it ideal for oil‐ and water‐repellent products but detrimental for the environment, where it persists and accumulates in organisms.

Two unisexual artificial polyploid clones constructed by genome addition of common carp (Cyprinus carp) and crucian carp (Carassius auratus) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A polyploid hybrid fish with natural gynogenesis can prevent segregation and maintain their hybrid vigor in their progenies. Supposing the reproduction mode of induced polyploid fish being natural gynogenesis, allopolyploid hybrid between common carp and

Improved image reconstruction in coherent diffraction imaging using self‐seeded XFEL pulses

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that the superior coherence of narrow‐bandwidth self‐seeded X‐ray pulses significantly improves the quality and reliability of image reconstruction in coherent diffraction imaging compared with conventional broad‐bandwidth SASE pulses.
