Comparative experiments on starter diets for grass carp and common carp

Aquaculture, 1988
Abstract The influence of different compound diets and live zooplankton on growth and survival of two species of cyprinid larvae was compared. In common carp larvae fed exclusively on dry diets high mortality occurred in most cases; exceptions were fish fed Ewos C 20 starter diet (12%).

Role of miR-731 and miR-2188-3p in mediating chlorpyrifos induced head kidney injury in common carp via targeting TLR and apoptosis pathways.

Aquatic Toxicology, 2019
Chlorpyrifos (CPF) is an environmental pollutant with increasing importance due to its high toxicity to fish and aquatic animals. In the present study, we divided 120 common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) into two groups including control group and CPF group,

Carp edema virus from three genogroups is present in common carp in Hungary

Journal of Fish Diseases, 2017
AbstractHungary is an important carp producer with intensive trading relationships with farms in other carp‐producing areas in Europe. Carp in Europe were recently found infected with carp edema virus (CEV), a poxvirus which causes the koi sleepy disease (KSD) syndrome.

COPPER, CORTISOL AND THE COMMON CARP

Journal of Experimental Biology, 2003
![Figure][1] Copper is an essential element needed for many physiological processes. But at high concentrations copper is toxic, so homeostatic mechanisms are required to regulate internal levels of copper.

Cross‐species amplification in silver carp and bighead carp with microsatellite primers of common carp

Molecular Ecology Notes, 2002
AbstractAbout a third of microsatellite primers designed for common carp (Cyprinus carpio) was successfully amplified in silver carp (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) and bighead carp (Aristichthys nobilis). These markers, inherited in Mendelian mode, are of potential applications in cypinid genetics.

Does Anoxia Induce Cell Swelling in Carp Brains? In Vivo MRI Measurements in Crucian Carp and Common Carp

Journal of Neurophysiology, 2001
Although both common and crucian carp survived 2 h of anoxia at 18°C, the response of their brains to anoxia was quite different and indicative of the fact that the crucian carp is anoxia tolerant while the common carp is not. Using in vivo T2and diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), we studied anoxia induced changes in brain volume ...

Gap-free genome of common carp

We integrated PacBio HiFi sequencing, Oxford Nanopore Technologies ultralong sequencing, and chromosomal conformational capture technology to assemble a high-quality gap-free genome assembly for common carp (strain Taisho Sansyoku).
