Clinical and Immunological Spectrum of Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID)

open access: yesIranian Journal of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, 2004
We have analysed data from 150 patients initially classified as having CVID. About 10% had laboratory abnormalities suggesting known single gene disorders (eg: hyper-IgM syndrome), and in a few a genetic defect has been confirmed.

Investigating serum free light chains in patients with common variable immunodeficiency disorder in compare with other immunodeficiency diseases [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Serum free light chains (sFLCs) have recently been introduced as a diagnostic biomarker in common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) patients. Most patients with CVID have undetectable or lower levels of sFLCs compared to people with other types of immune ...

Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) presenting with malabsorption due to giardiasis

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology, 2005
Common variable immunodeficiency is characterized with B-cell and T-cell dysfunction and hypogammaglobulinemia. Recurrent bacterial infections, such as otitis media, chronic sinusitis and recurrent pneumonia due to diminished immunoglobulin (Ig) levels and impaired antibody production are frequently observed in common variable immunodeficiency.

Severe diabetic ketoacidosis and autoimmune pancreatitis with SIRS in an adolescent with LRBA deficiency – A rare complication of a common primary immunodeficiency disease

open access: yesJournal of Family Medicine and Primary Care, 2022
Common variable immunodeficiency is the most common primary immunodeficiency disorder. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-responsive beige-like anchor protein (LRBA) deficiency is categorized as a common variable immunodeficiency associated with autoimmune ...

Single-cell Atlas of common variable immunodeficiency shows germinal center-associated epigenetic dysregulation in B-cell responses

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is the most prevalent primary immunodeficiency. Here the authors perform single-cell omics analyses in CVID-discordant monozygotic twins and show epigenetic and transcriptional alterations associated with ...

Recent advances in elucidating the genetics of common variable immunodeficiency

open access: yesGenes and Diseases, 2020
Common variable immunodeficiency disorders (CVID), a heterogeneous group of inborn errors of immunity, is the most common symptomatic primary immunodeficiency disorder. Patients with CVID have highly variable clinical presentation.
