Abstract Development of approximation techniques for highly detailed surfaces is one of the challenges faced today. We introduce a new mesh structure that allows dense triangular meshes of arbitrary topology to be approximated. The structure is constructed from the information gathered during a simplification process.

COMPACT A Reclamation Soil Compaction Model Part I. Model Development
Transactions of the ASAE, 1992A physically based, event oriented soil compaction model, known as COMPACT, was developed as a management or research tool to evaluate the effect of surface mining systems on compaction of soil material during reclamation. Simulation of compaction throughout the soil profile at a surface mining reclamation site requires information describing how ...

Micro-mechanical modelling of powder compaction
Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, 2001To model the compactification of a granular material by accounting for its microstructural properties, three different models (one isotropic, two anisotropic) are proposed and tested against each other (and, where available, against experimental data) in several scenarios.

Frustrated Models for Compact Packings
1998We review some properties of frustrated models which reproduce the logaritmic relaxation in granular compaction.

High-precision compact-thermal models
IEEE Transactions on Components and Packaging Technologies, 2005This paper is a step towards building a more complete theory of compact thermal models, in which their common structure is highlighted and hence the sources of errors inevitably present in any compact model clearly revealed. This approach is further extended in order to propose an original approach to attain any desired level of precision.

As the mainstream MOS technology is scaled into the deep sub-micron regime, development of a truly physical and predictive compact model for circuit simulation that covers geometry, bias, temperature, d.c.. a.c., RF, and noise characteristics becomes a major challenge.

Compact Extended Linear Programming Models
2018This book provides a handy, unified introduction to the theory of compact extended formulations of exponential-size integer linear programming (ILP) models. Compact extended formulations are equally powerful, but polynomial-sized, models whose solutions do not require the implementation of separation and pricing procedures.

Compaction of Sediments and Different Compaction Models
2019Various simple and advanced models exist for mechanisms of uniform and non-uniform sediment compaction that increases density and reduces porosity. While the classical Athy’s relation on depth-wise exponential reduction of porosity is not divided into any distinct stages, the Hedberg’s model involves four stages.
