Modelling polarization properties of comet 1P/Halley using a mixture of compact and aggregate particles

open access: yes, 2011
Recently, the result obtained from `Stardust' mission suggests that the overall ratio of compact to aggregate particles is 65:35 (or 13:7) for Comet 81P/Wild 2 (Burchell et al. 2008).

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Charge-Based Compact Modeling of Capacitances in Staggered Multi-Finger OTFTs

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2020
This journal paper introduces a charge-based approach for the calculation of charges and capacitances in staggered organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs). Based on an already existing DC model, the charges are yielded in an analytical and compact form.

A nonlinear scalar model of extreme mass ratio inspirals in effective field theory I. Self force through third order

open access: yes, 2010
The motion of a small compact object in a background spacetime is investigated in the context of a model nonlinear scalar field theory. This model is constructed to have a perturbative structure analogous to the General Relativistic description of ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Correlation between Electrochemical Relaxations and Morphologies of Conducting Polymer Dendrites

open access: yesECS Advances
Conducting Polymer Dendrites (CPD) can engrave sophisticated patterns of electrical interconnects in their morphology with low-voltage spikes and few resources: they may unlock in operando manufacturing functionalities for electronics using metamorphism ...

A Compact Model for SiC Schottky Barrier Diodes Based on the Fundamental Current Mechanisms

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2020
We develop a complete compact model to describe the forward current, reverse current, and capacitance of SiC Schottky barrier diodes. The model is based on the fundamental current mechanisms of thermionic emission and tunneling, and is usable over a ...

Fast and Expandable ANN-Based Compact Model and Parameter Extraction for Emerging Transistors

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2023
In this paper, we present a fast and expandable artificial neural network (ANN)-based compact model and parameter extraction flow to replace the existing complicated compact model implementation and model parameter extraction (MPE) method. In addition to
