Lowering the cost of quantum comparator circuits

open access: yesThe Journal of Supercomputing
AbstractQuantum comparators hold substantial significance in the scientific community as fundamental components in a wide array of algorithms. In this research, we present an innovative approach where we explore the realm of comparator circuits, specifically focussing on three distinct circuit designs present in the literature.

The Inverted Circuit: Attribution, Answerability, and Accountability in Canadian Health Governance

open access: yesThe Milbank Quarterly, EarlyView.
Policy Points Canada and the United States have not failed for want of accountability mechanisms in health governance. They have failed because accountability is repeatedly invoked where attribution and answerability are not already standing, so the result is the punishment of visible individuals rather than structural correction.

Self‐balancing 20 Hz current comparator

open access: yesIET Science, Measurement & Technology
The low‐frequency transformer is a key measurement equipment for low‐frequency transmission engineering; the accuracy level of the low‐frequency transformer is generally difficult to be better than 0.05% due to the influence of core depth saturation at ...

Associations of cannabis use, tobacco use and co‐use with brain volume: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesAddiction, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and aims Cannabis is the most widely used illicit drug worldwide and is often co‐used with tobacco, the leading cause of preventable death. Although cannabis and tobacco have distinct neurobiological actions, their associations with brain volumes are unclear.

Time‐Resolved Multi‐Omics Identify Biomarkers of Immediate Reactions to mRNA Vaccination

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
We compared early vaccine‐induced immune and metabolic signatures and downstream immunity after second and booster BNT162b2 doses in participants with sARs, ISSRs, or no reactions. Neutrophil mobilization, antiviral programs, and robust anti‐S‐antibody responses occurred across reaction groups.

On Standard Cell-Based Design for Dynamic Voltage Comparators and Relaxation Oscillators

open access: yesChips
This paper deals with a standard cell-based analog-in-concept pW-power building block as a comparator and a wake-up oscillator. Both topologies, traditionally conceived as an analog building block made by a custom process and supply voltage-dependent ...

The Origins of Allergy: An Outside‐In, Bioenergetic Hypothesis

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Allergic disease has risen too rapidly for inherited susceptibility to explain it, and the risk variants so far reported lie in the epithelial barrier and in type‐2 immunity. We propose a five‐layer model in which epithelial barrier and bioenergetic dysfunction may precede and promote type‐2 immune deviation rather than arise solely as its ...

Temporary Right Ventricular Mechanical Circulatory Support Devices in Acute Right Ventricular Failure and Cardiogenic Shock: A Cross‐Device Systematic Review and Single‐Arm Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
Among selected patients receiving temporary right ventricular support, pooled survival to discharge was 60.4%, and separately pooled successful weaning was 60.6%. These descriptive estimates from 106 heterogeneous observational studies, predominantly involving concurrent left‐sided or biventricular support, cannot establish treatment benefit or ...
