Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Nonuniqueness of solutions of initial-value problems for parabolic p-Laplacian

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2015
We construct a positive solution to a quasilinear parabolic problem in a bounded spatial domain with the p-Laplacian and a nonsmooth reaction function. We obtain nonuniqueness for zero initial data.

The C‐terminal region of KIF26B is indispensable for nephron progenitor condensation and kidney formation in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KIF26B plays an important role in kidney development. We engineered mice lacking the C‐terminal region of KIF26B and found severe kidney defects, including bilateral renal agenesis, similar to full Kif26b knockout mice. The mutation disrupted nephron progenitor condensation and reduced Gdnf‐Wnt11 signaling, showing that the KIF26B C‐terminal region is ...

Comparison principle for parabolic equations in the Heisenberg group

open access: yes, 2005
We define two notions of viscosity solutions to parabolic equations in the Heisenberg group, depending on whether the test functions concern only the past or both the past and the future.

Blowup and existence of global solutions to nonlinear parabolic equations with degenerate diffusion

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
In this article, we consider the degenerate parabolic equation $$ u_t-\hbox{div}(|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u) =\lambda u^m+\mu|\nabla u|^q $$ on a smoothly bounded domain $\Omega\subseteq\mathbb{R}^N\; (N\geq2)$, with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary ...

Comparison Principle for Weakly Coupled Cooperative Parabolic Systems with Delays

open access: yesMathematics
In this article, the validity of the comparison principle (CP) for weakly coupled quasi-linear cooperative systems with delays is proven. This is a powerful tool for studying the qualitative properties of the solutions. The CP is crucial in the proofs of

Versatile vector tools for efficient protein screening across multiple expression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A unified vector toolkit enables rapid protein expression screening across E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells. A single primer pair amplifies the target gene, which is inserted into any vector via a standardized interface. This streamlined workflow eliminates repeated cloning steps, accelerating the identification of optimal expression conditions for

Global stability of stage-structured single species model on with Beverton–Holt birth function

open access: yesApplied Mathematics in Science and Engineering
Our article discusses a Cauchy problem of a single species model with stage structure and Beverton–Holt birth function. The global stability of the Cauchy problem is completely surveyed by using the global stability of the corresponding elliptic system ...
