The Mycobacterium tuberculosis Rv0132c Gene Product Mtb‐FGD2 Can Act as an F420‐Dependent Glucose Dehydrogenase

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The role of the cell envelope‐associated Rv0132c/FGD2 from Mycobacterium tuberculosis has long been a subject of debate. Importantly, FGD2 is found only in pathogenic mycobacteria, making it a potential drug target. While some suggest it functions as a glucose‐6‐phosphate dehydrogenase, others propose it acts instead as an F420‐dependent ...

Development of paint area estimation software for ship compartments and structures

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, 2016
AbstractThe painting process of large ships is an intense manual operation that typically comprises 9–12% of the total shipbuilding cost. Accordingly, shipbuilders need to estimate the required amount of anti-corrosive coatings and painting resources for inventory and cost control.

SHIP-1 deficiency in the myeloid compartment is insufficient to induce myeloid expansion or chronic inflammation [PDF]

open access: yesGenes & Immunity, 2014
SHIP-1 has an important role in controlling immune cell function through its ability to downmodulate PI3K signaling pathways that regulate cell survival and responses to stimulation. Mice deficient in SHIP-1 display several chronic inflammatory phenotypes including antibody-mediated autoimmune disease, Crohn's disease-like ileitis and a lung disease ...

First genome sequence of a European Alternaria brassicae isolate and genes involved in early development of alternaria leaf spot on Brassica juncea

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
This article reports the first genome sequence of a UK Alternaria brassicae isolate. Dual RNA‐sequencing profiling of A. brassicae‐infected Brassica juncea leaves identified differentially expressed genes involved in pathogenicity and host response pathways in moderately resistant Sej‐2 (2) and moderately susceptible Pusa Jaikisan cultivars.

Study on the flooding characteristics of damaged barges with dynamic explosive deformation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering
Dynamic explosion in a compartment damages the structure, resulting in flooding and even sinking of the ship. To study the flooding characteristics of damaged compartments and floating states of the hull under deformation of the bulkhead caused by ...
