Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

Compensation of deep drawing tools for springback and tool-deformation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Manual tool reworking is one of the most time-consuming stages in the\ud preparation of a deep drawing process. Finite Elements (FE) analyses are now widely\ud applied to test the feasibility of the forming process, and with the increasing accuracy of ...

Expression and DNA methylation of 20S proteasome subunits as prognostic and resistance markers in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Comprehensive analysis of genomic mutations, gene expression, DNA methylation, and pathway analysis of TCGA data was carried out to define cancer types in which proteasome subunits expression is associated with worse survival. Albeit the effect of specific proteasome subunits on cellular function, the main role of the proteasome is better evaluated ...

Occupational exposure to volatile organic compounds affects microRNA profiling: Towards the identification of novel biomarkers

open access: yesToxicology Reports, 2020
In the framework of a project aimed at finding novel predictive biomarkers of VOCs exposure-related diseases, the effect of exposure to ethylbenzene, toluene, and xylene has been analyzed in a group of painters (spray- and roller-painters) working in the

Portfolio Manager Compensation in the U.S. Mutual Fund Industry

open access: yesJournal of Finance, 2018
We study compensation contracts of individual portfolio managers using hand‐collected data of over 4,500 U.S. mutual funds. Variations in the compensation structures are broadly consistent with an optimal contracting equilibrium.

Dose‐dependent induction of epithelial‐mesenchymal transition in 3D melanoma models by non‐thermal plasma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Non‐thermal plasma treatment of melanoma cells induced epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in a dose‐dependent fashion. This report highlights the critical need to further investigate potential adverse effects of non‐thermal plasma for cancer therapy and to optimize treatment parameters for clinical translation. Despite the promising results of non‐

Targeting of PTP4A3 overexpression sensitises HGSOC cells towards chemotherapeutic drugs

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In HGSOC with normal KRAS expression, high PTP4A3 expression regulates autophagy activation. Conversely, in HGSOC with high KRAS expression, KRAS dictates autophagy control, and PTP4A3 is not required. When high PTP4A3 expression is inhibited, HGSOC cells are preferentially sensitised towards DNA‐damaging agents.
