Responsive competition law enforcement: lessons from the Greek Competition Authority [PDF]
According to the conventional view competition law differs from regulation in that it is applied ex post, through proscriptions, and in a ‘crime-tort’ fashion.

Competitiveness in European law
Engaging in a diachronic analysis, this report examines the ways in which the European institutions have addressed the concepts of ‘competitiveness’ and ‘cultural diversity’ in the development of their policies for the European audiovisual sector and film industry.

Dislocation cutting of γ′ precipitates in Ni‐based superalloys is investigated by linking atomistic simulations with discrete dislocation dynamics. The critical cutting stress is shown to be governed by the antiphase boundary energy, while line tension effects promote edge‐preferred cutting.

The new goals of EU competition law: sustainability, labour rights, and privacy
Competition law is experiencing a transformation from a niche economic tool to a Swiss knife of broader industrial and social policy. Relatedly, there is a narrative that sees an expansive role for competition law in broad areas such as sustainability ...

This study applies machine learning regression to predict chromium layer thickness in decorative trivalent chromium electroplating, using 441 experiments from laboratory‐scale (1L) and pilot‐scale (14L) setups. Tree‐based models, particularly CatBoost, outperformed linear regression by capturing nonlinear parameter interactions (R2$R^2$ up to 0.77 ...

Article 234 and competition law : an analysis [PDF]
It is a truism that almost all the major principles established by the ECJ have been decided in the context of a reference to that court for a preliminary ruling under Article 234 (ex 177) EC.

Financial Power in Competition Policy as a Key Component of Modern Bigness
At the sidelines of antitrust and competition law there have always existed theories that reach beyond the mere harms of market power and look at the effects of financial power or financial bigness.

Molecular dynamics is used to investigate structure refinement during severe plastic deformation. The results show similitude with experimental data. Molecular dynamics simulations of severe plastic deformation of monocrystalline and polycrystalline samples by multiaxial compression of aluminum are carried out.
