The C‐terminal region of KIF26B is indispensable for nephron progenitor condensation and kidney formation in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KIF26B plays an important role in kidney development. We engineered mice lacking the C‐terminal region of KIF26B and found severe kidney defects, including bilateral renal agenesis, similar to full Kif26b knockout mice. The mutation disrupted nephron progenitor condensation and reduced Gdnf‐Wnt11 signaling, showing that the KIF26B C‐terminal region is ...

Laboratory measurements and modeling of metal-humic interactions under estuarine conditions. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Equilibrium dialysis was used to measure Co- and Cu-binding by an isolated peat humic acid (PHA) in controlled laboratory experiments under simulated estuarine conditions: ionic strengths of 0.005-0.7 M in NaCl and mixed Na-Mg-Ca chloride solutions, with

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Ligand-binding properties of XaffOBP9, a Minus-C odorant-binding protein from Xyleborus affinis (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae)

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology
Xyleborus affinis, one of the most important pests of rubber trees, has caused severe damage to the natural rubber industry in Hainan province. The ability to detect host plants through a sensitive and specific olfactory system is crucial for Xyleborus ...

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Design, synthesis, and evaluation of a novel fluorescent probe for competitive fluorescence polarization assay to screen galectin-8 inhibitors

open access: yesActa Pharmaceutica
In the present work, we describe the design, synthesis, and evaluation of a galectin-8-binding fluorescent probe designed for a competitive fluorescence polarization (FP) assay for screening new galectin-8N inhibitors. The probe was characterized for its
