Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Edge-linked dynamics and the scale-dependence of competitive

open access: yesMathematical Biosciences and Engineering, 2005
Empirical data for several ecological systems suggest that howresource availability scales with patch geometry may influence the outcome ofspecies interactions.

Dynamics in a ratio-dependent Lotka–Volterra competitive-competitive-cooperative system with feedback controls and delays

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2021
This study investigates the dynamical behavior of a ratio-dependent Lotka–Volterra competitive-competitive-cooperative system with feedback controls and delays. Compared with previous studies, both ratio-dependent functional responses and time delays are

Competitive dynamics of web sites [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Economic Dynamics and Control, 2000
We present a dynamical model of web site growth in order to explore the effects of competition among web sites and to determine how they affect the nature of markets. We show that under general conditions, as the competition between sites increases, the model exhibits a sudden transition from a regime in which many sites thrive simultaneously, to a ...

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Higher-order interactions mitigate direct negative effects on population dynamics of herbaceous plants during succession

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2020
Plant succession is regulated by a combination of abiotic and biotic factors. However, previous studies of biotic drivers have focused overwhelmingly on direct pairwise species interactions, ignoring the likely prevalent higher-order interactions (HOIs ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Competitive Dynamics of Market Entry: Scale and Survival [PDF]

open access: yesManagement and Economics Review, 2017
Market entry is the essence of strategy and is largely viewed as a dichotomous event: entry or no entry. What has not been acknowledged is the uniqueness of each market entry.
