Complementation of subquandles

open access: yesInvolve, a Journal of Mathematics
Saki and Kiani proved that the subrack lattice of a rack $R$ is necessarily complemented if $R$ is finite but not necessarily complemented if $R$ is infinite. In this paper, we investigate further avenues related to the complementation of subquandles.

Integrative miRNOMe profiling reveals the miR‐195‐5p–CHEK1 axis and its impact on luminal breast cancer outcomes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In luminal (ER+) breast carcinoma (BC), miRNA profiling identified miR‐195‐5p as a key regulator of proliferation that targets CHEK1, CDC25A, and CCNE1. High CHEK1 expression correlates with worse relapse‐free survival after chemotherapy, especially in patients with luminal A subtype.

Anti-complement Treatment for Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria: Time for Proximal Complement Inhibition? A Position Paper From the SAAWP of the EBMT

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
The treatment of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria has been revolutionized by the introduction of the anti-C5 agent eculizumab; however, eculizumab is not the cure for Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), and room for improvement remains. Indeed,

Association of high‐dose radioactive iodine therapy with PPM1D‐mutated clonal hematopoiesis in older individuals

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In thyroid cancer patients, high‐dose (≥7.4 GBq) radioactive iodine therapy (RAIT) was associated with a higher prevalence of clonal hematopoiesis (variant allele frequency >2%) in individuals aged ≥50 years (OR = 2.44). In silico analyses showed that truncating PPM1D mutations conferred a selective advantage under these conditions.

Tumor Cells Hijack Macrophage-Produced Complement C1q to Promote Tumor Growth

open access: yesCancer immunology research, 2019
The density of C1q-producing TAMs and C4d deposits, hallmarks of complement activation, are negative prognostic factors in human clear-cell renal cell carcinoma.
