Kalman Filter and Complementary Filter in Attitude Estimation of APM

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
This paper presents the results of a quaternion based extend Kalman filter (EKF) and complementary filter for ArduPilotMega (APM) attitude estimation. In addition, a new method to get the measurement noise covariance matrix R is proposed. Experimental results show that the two algorithms can meet the requirements, but the complementary filter can yield

A class of complementary IIR filters

ISCAS'99. Proceedings of the 1999 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems VLSI (Cat. No.99CH36349), 2003
A class of complementary IIR filters is introduced. One of these filters can be realized as a tapped cascaded interconnection of identical allpass subfilters. The complementary filter is then obtained automatically by adding some extra allpass subfilters and a subtractor.

Multi-complementary filter bank

IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speech and Signal Processing, 1993
An octave-spaced complementary filter bank that provides aliasing-free subband signal processing and perfect reconstruction is presented. The transition bandwidth of the splitting filters can be controlled independently by basis filters, which in turn are realized by multirate complementary filters. The design of the filter bank is presented. >

A family of phase complementary filters

ICASSP '79. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
Phase Complementary filters are of use in situations where it is necessary to measure energy content of a signal, at a particular frequency. This paper describes a family of such filter functions, based on time windows of the general form tke-at, k, integer.

Higher order complementary filters

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1994
A higher order generalization of magnitude and power complementary filters is proposed. The proposed scheme is shown to have superior frequency characteristics compared to the ordinary complementary filters. Applications of these generalized complementary filters include subband coding for audio and video and sharpening of magnitude characteristics of ...

Broadband beamforming with power complementary filters

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2002
This paper addresses the design of broadband finite impulse response (FIR) beamformers with a power complementarity property. The power complementarity requirement is needed to preserve the whiteness of the channel noise at the beamformer output, which allows the application of optimum trellis-based equalizers to the output signal.
