Correlation Filter Tracking with Complementary Features
2018Although Correlation Filters (CF) tracking algorithms have inherent capability to tackle various challenging scenarios individually, none of them are robust enough to handle all the challenges simultaneously. For any online tracking based on Correlation Filters, feature is one of the most important factors due to its representation power of target ...

Discrete time-varying attitude complementary filter
2009 American Control Conference, 2009This paper presents the development of an attitude complementary filter for an Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS). Using strapdown inertial measurements and vector observations, the proposed complementary filter provides attitude estimates in Euler angles representation, while compensating for rate gyro bias.

External acceleration elimination for complementary attitude filter
2017 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation (ICIA), 2017Generalized complementary filter (GCF) is an attractive solution for data fusion in attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) and inertial measurement unit (IMU), mainly because its computational efficiency. However, since the accelerometer in AHRS and IMU is sensitive to both the gravity and external acceleration, the performance of GCF will be ...

Time-varying complementary filtering for attitude estimation
2011 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2011Complementary filtering (CF) is a well known method that can effectively fuse a gyroscope and accelerometer measurement in order to robustly estimate the attitude of a rigid body in a planar single degree of freedom (DOF) setting. The attitude can be estimated individually by either integrating the gyroscope measurement or by calculating the inverse ...

Generalized doubly complementary IIR digital filters
Signal Processing, 1992The authors examine the properties of weighted complementary IIR filters. Either real or complex allpass subfilters are utilized. The classical odd-order lowpass designs can be realized as a parallel connection of two real or complex conjugate allpass filters. Also, a complementary filter pair can be implemented at the cost of a single filter.

Filter bank representation of complementary sequence pairs
2012 50th Annual Allerton Conference on Communication, Control, and Computing (Allerton), 2012A unique decomposition of arbitrary pairs of complementary sequences (including binary, polyphase and QAM) based on paraunitary matrices is presented. This decomposition allows us to describe the internal structure of any sequence pair of length N using basic paraunitary matrices defined by N complex coefficients named omega vector.

A Comparison of Complementary and Kalman Filtering
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1975A technique used in the flight control industry for estimation when combining measurements is the complementary filter. This filter is usually designed without any reference to Wiener or Kalman filters, although it is related to them. This paper, which is mainly tutorial, reviews complementary filtering and shows its relationship to Kalman and Wiener ...

A Complementary Predictor for Collaborative Filtering
2015Recommender systems provide users with personalized suggestions for products or services. Collaborative Filtering (CF) is a method commonly used in recommender systems to establish a connection between users and products by analyzing past transactions.

A complementary pair LMS algorithm for adaptive filtering
1997 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2002This paper presents a new algorithm that can solve the problem of selecting appropriate update step size in the LMS algorithm. The proposed algorithm, called a complementary pair LMS (CP-LMS) algorithm, consists of two adaptive filters with different update step sizes operating in parallel, one filter re-initializing the other with the better ...

Digital filters with complementary characteristics find many applications in practice. In this chapter, we concentrate on the properties and construction of complementary filters and filter pairs. An important application of complementary property is deriving a new transfer function from the existing one.
