Improved Complementary Filter with The Butterworth Property
Complementary Filter is commonly used in signal processing method for real-time position measurement. Butterworth filter characteristic has a uniform gain in the pass band, the blocking band has a good blocking characteristics. Therefore, we propose a method of designing a complementary filter having a characteristic of Butterworth filter ...

On the Design of Attitude Complementary Filters on $\text{SO}(3)$
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2018This paper deals with the design, performance, and robustness analysis of nonlinear attitude complementary filters on $\text{SO}(3)$ . We derive explicit time solutions of the attitude estimation error dynamics of the filters (in the disturbance-free case) and analyze their performance and robustness with respect to measurement disturbances.

Wideband and UWB filters with complementary couplings
2012 Asia Pacific Microwave Conference Proceedings, 2012New type of direct-coupled resonator filter with complementary couplings is analyzed and described. Complementary couplings are capacitive (electric) and inductive (magnetic) couplings used together in one filter. Capacitive and inductive effects complement each other in terms of frequency dependence.

Complementary filter banks for image compression
Proceedings X Brazilian Symposium on Computer Graphics and Image Processing, 2002In this paper we present a nonseparable complementary filter (CF) bank for image compression. We base our design of the filter bank on the two-dimensional (2D) multirate processing and on properties of complementary filters. Perfect reconstruction is guaranteed when the CF bank is implemented with quincunx sampling and filtering, but not otherwise.

Glove Type Air Mouse Powered by Kalman Filtering and Complementary Filtering
2017Recently, an air mouse has been used for preventing wrist syndrome or for convenience of use. However, in the case of the conventional air mouse, most of it operates as a remote control type. In this study, a glove type air mouse was developed. We used Kalman filtering and complementary filtering in order to perform mouse operation properly. The Kalman

Complementary Filter to Estimate Inertial Velocity
Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 2009Long appreciated advantageous stability and performance properties of “skyhook damping” are dependent on availability of an inertially referenced velocity signal. In this work a practical complementary filter using acceleration and position measurements is proposed to construct a high quality inertial velocity signal. The filter was used in a hydraulic

Small Filters: A Complementary Framework to the Great Filter Hypothesis
A conceptual extension to the Great Filter hypothesis proposing the existence of recurrent probabilistic “Small Filters” that gradually shape the survival, stability, and evolution of individuals, systems, and civilizations through cumulative effects over time.openaire +1 more source
