Rad27/FEN1 prevents accumulation of Okazaki fragments and ribosomal DNA copy number changes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The budding yeast Rad27 is a structure‐specific endonuclease. Here, the authors reveal that Rad27 is crucial for maintaining the stability of the ribosomal RNA gene (rDNA) region. Rad27 deficiency leads to the accumulation of Okazaki fragments and changes in rDNA copy number.

Infinitival and Gerund-Participial Catenative Complement Constructions in English World-Wide

open access: yesLanguages
Previous research on non-finite catenative complementation (for example, start Ving/to V; force NP into Ving/to V) has largely been restricted to BrE and/or AmE.

On quasi-complements [PDF]

open access: yesPacific Journal of Mathematics, 1973
has a reflexive, infinite dimensional quotient(cf. [12]).The final result of the paper is that every subspace of a separableconjugate space admits a weak*-closed quasi-complement which isspanned by a boundedly complete w*-basic sequence. The notation and terminology agree with [6].

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

The structure of complement clauses in Lunda

open access: yesStudies in African Linguistics, 2006
This paper provides a functional and descriptive study of complement clauses in Lunda, a language spoken in Zambia. While the structure of infinitival complement clauses is analogous to that found in many languages, other types of complement clauses ...

The conserved active site aspartate residue is required for the function of the chloroplast atypical kinase ABC1K1

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
IntroductionThe Arabidopsis abc1k1/pgr6 (Activity of BC1 complex/proton regulation 6) mutant is characterized by photosynthetic and conditional developmental phenotypes triggered by stressful red as well as high light.

A natural-language semantics approach to infinitival and gerund-participial complementation in English

open access: yesAnglophonia, 2007
Cet article propose une analyse de la complémentation infinitive et gérondive en anglais au moyen d’un cadre théorique fondé sur la sémantique naturelle non formelle. Le postulat de base de l’analyse est que ce sont les signifiés des formes linguistiques

MYB Superfamily in Brassica napus: Evidence for Hormone-Mediated Expression Profiles, Large Expansion, and Functions in Root Hair Development

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2020
MYB proteins are involved in diverse important biological processes in plants. Herein, we obtained the MYB superfamily from the allotetraploid Brassica napus, which contains 227 MYB-related (BnMYBR/Bn1R-MYB), 429 R2R3-MYB (Bn2R-MYB), 22 R1R2R3-MYB (Bn3R ...

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.
