Complete mitochondrial genome of Oregonia gracilis Dana, 1851 (Crustacea: Decapoda: Majoidea)

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2021
The complete mitochondrial genome of the majoid crab, Oregonia gracilis, was determined from a specimen collected in Korea. The mitochondrial genome is 15,737 bp long and contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, and two ...

Combined flow cytometry and high-throughput image analysis for the study of essential genes in Caenorhabditis elegans [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background: Advances in automated image-based microscopy platforms coupled with high-throughput liquid workflows have facilitated the design of large-scale screens utilising multicellular model organisms such as Caenorhabditis elegans to identify genetic

Characterization and phylogenetic analysis of the complete mitochondrial genome of the medicinal fungus Laetiporus sulphureus

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
The medicinal fungus Laetiporus sulphureus is widely distributed worldwide. To screen for molecular markers potentially useful for phylogenetic analyses of this species and related species, the mitochondrial genome of L.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Analysis of complete mitochondrial genome of Etisus anaglyptus (Arthropoda, Decapoda, Xanthidae) with phylogenetic consideration

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2018
The complete mitochondrial genome is sequenced and analyzed from a xanthid crab Etisus anaglyptus, which is the first complete mitochondrial genome for the genus. The mitochondrial genome length of E.

Fixation of genetic variation and optimization of gene expression: The speed of evolution in isolated lizard populations undergoing Reverse Island Syndrome [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The ecological theory of island biogeography suggests that mainland populations should be more genetically divergent from those on large and distant islands rather than from those on small and close islets.

Complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Parumbrosa polylobata [PDF]

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA Part B, 2019
The complete mitochondrial genome sequences of giant jellyfish Parumbrosa polylobata, a scyphozoan species inhabiting the Yellow Sea cold bottom water in China, is firstly described and analyzed in this research. It is 16,809 bp in length with a linear mitochondrial DNA. The base composition of the genome with A + T bias is 69.7%.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
