Visualizing Complex Functions [PDF]
Creating plots of functions with complex number inputs and outputs is quite different from functions with real number inputs and outputs. When plotting functions of real inputs and outputs, the horizontal axis can be used to represent the input and the ...

The Blasius Function in the Complex Plane [PDF]
The Blasius function, denoted by f, is the solution to a simple nonlinear boundary layer problem, a third order ordinary differential equation on $x \in [0, \infty]$. In this work, we calculate several numerical constants, such as the second derivative of f at the origin and the two parameters of the linear asymptotic approximation to f, to at least ...

ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

Complex-scaled Hartree–Fock wave functions for the frozen core: A B spline approach [PDF]
We present the construction of the complex scaled valence one-electron orbital wave function in the Hartree–Fock approximation with a frozen core in terms of B splines.

On the Query Complexity of Real Functionals [PDF]
Recently Kawamura and Cook developed a framework to define the computational complexity of operators arising in analysis. Our goal is to understand the effects of complexity restrictions on the analytical properties of the operator. We focus on the case of norms over C[0,1] and introduce the notion of dependence of a norm on a point and relate it to ...

ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.

New insights into the "in vivo" and "in vitro" functions of mammalian TOR complex 2 [PDF]
Target of rapamycin (TOR) is the main controller of cell growth and metabolism in response to nutrients, growth factors and the cellular energy status. TOR is a serine/threonine kinase conserved from yeast to mammals and is found in two functionally and

Series representations for generalized harmonic functions in the case of three parameters [PDF]
We present a canonical series expansion for generalized harmonic functions in the open unit disc in the complex plane that generalizes that recently obtained for the class of (,)-harmonic functions.

On the complexity of slice functions
By results of Razborov negations can be very powerful for Boolean circuits. But for the class of slice functions negations are almost powerless. Hence each hard function has a hard slice. Lower bounds on the monotone circuit complexity of slice functions imply lower bounds on the circuit complexity of these functions.
