Mechanical, Magnetic, and Microstructural Characterization of Ni0.9Co0.1Fe2O4 Produced by the Ceramic Method [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2018
Ni-Co ferrites, especially the ones with lower cobalt fractions, are candidate materials for applications in magnetomechanical sensors and electromagnetic wave absorbers.

FFT‐based bounds on the permeability of complex microstructures [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, 2014
SUMMARYA numerical scheme for the computation of the permeability of complex microstructures is presented. As a darcean counterpart of the FFT‐based scheme in elasticity, the method is designed to be directly coupled with 3D imaging techniques of porous samples, without meshing or definition of an equivalent pore network.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Structural heterogeneity and permeability in faulted eolian sandstone: Implications for subsurface modeling of faults [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We determined the structure and permeability variations of a 4 km-long normal fault by integrating surface mapping with data from five boreholes drilled through the fault (borehole to tens of meters scale).

Magnetization reversal and spin dynamics exchange in biased F/AF bilayers probed with complex permeability spectra

open access: yes, 2003
The spin dynamics of the ferromagnetic pinned layer of ferro-antiferromagnetic coupled NiFe/MnNi bilayers is investigated in a broad frequency range (30 MHz-6 GHz).

A new behavioural model for performance evaluation of common mode chokes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A galvanically isolated three-phase AC/AC converter with a high-frequency AC-link has been analyzed from an EMC point of view. This is a special configuration because of a large number of switches, a high frequency transformer, and a fourwire output. The

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Great SCO2T! Rapid tool for carbon sequestration science, engineering, and economics

open access: yes, 2020
CO2 capture and storage (CCS) technology is likely to be widely deployed in coming decades in response to major climate and economics drivers: CCS is part of every clean energy pathway that limits global warming to 2C or less and receives significant CO2

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...
