Urea-Functionalized Heterocycles: Structure, Hydrogen Bonding and Applications
Ureido-heterocycles exhibiting different triple- and quadruple H-bonding patterns are useful building blocks in the construction of supramolecular polymers, self-healing materials, stimuli-responsive devices, catalysts and sensors. The heterocyclic group

Electron Redistribution of Aromatic Ligands in (Arene)Cr(CO)\u3csub\u3e3\u3c/sub\u3e Complexes. Structural (Bond-Length) Changes as Quantitative Measures [PDF]
Arene ligands experience significant ring expansion upon coordination with chromium tricarbonyl, as established by precise X-ray crystallographic analyses of various (η6-arene)Cr(CO)3 complexes.

Benchmark {\em ab initio} energy profiles for the gas-phase S$_N$2 reactions Y$^-$ + CH$_3$X $\to$ CH$_3$Y + X$^-$ (X,Y = F,Cl,Br). Validation of hybrid DFT methods [PDF]
The energetics of the gas-phase S$_N$2 reactions Y$^-$ + CH$_3$X $\longrightarrow$ CH$_3$Y + X$^-$ (where X,Y = F, Cl, Br), were studied using (variants on) the recent W1 and W2 {\em ab initio} computational thermochemistry methods.

ABSTRACT Background Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is an aggressive complex lymphatic anomaly. Patients exhibit malformed lymphatic vessels and often develop hemorrhagic effusions and elevated angiopoietin‐2 (Ang‐2) levels. A somatic NRAS p.Q61R (NRASQ61R) mutation has been associated with KLA.

Chromoionophores in optical ion sensors [PDF]
The feasibility of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) for ion sensing has been investigated. Emphasis is laid on a simulation-based optimization of the SP carrying structure, as well as the applicability of a specific chemo—optical interface we have ...

Descriptive Complexity for counting complexity classes [PDF]
Descriptive Complexity has been very successful in characterizing complexity classes of decision problems in terms of the properties definable in some logics. However, descriptive complexity for counting complexity classes, such as FP and #P, has not been systematically studied, and it is not as developed as its decision counterpart.

ABSTRACT Background Families of children with cancer experience significant financial strain, even with universal healthcare. Indirect costs, such as productivity losses and non‐medical expenses, are rarely included in economic evaluations, and little is known about how effectively financial aid programmes alleviate this burden. Childhood brain tumours
