Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Automated Composite Column Wrapping

open access: yes, 2007
The Automated Composite Column Wrapping is performed by a patented machine known as Robo-Wrapper. Currently there are three versions of the machine available for bridge retrofit work depending on the size of the columns being wrapped. Composite column retrofit jacket systems can be structurally just as effective as conventional steel jacketing in ...

Penguatan Geser Pada Keretakan Sendi Beton Bertulang Dengan Menggunakan Komposit Serat Karbon Yang Diperkuat Plastik (Skdp) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CRFP), has over two decades become an increasingly notable material used in structural engineering application. CRFP could be used as prestressing materials due to their high strength.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Experimental study on axial compression for composite hollow column of steel fiber, high-strength lightweight aggregate concrete and angle steel

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
In order to study the axial compression performance for composite hollow column of steel fiber, high-strength lightweight aggregate concrete and angle steel, the axial compression tests were carried out on five composite hollow columns of steel fiber ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Axial Compression Behaviours of Pultruded GFRP–Wood Composite Columns

open access: yesSensors, 2019
An innovative pultruded fiber reinforced polymer (FRP)⁻wood composite (PFWC) column with a lightweight southern pine wood core confined by outer FRP sheets was manufactured using an improved pultrusion process.
