Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Research on the Theoretical Models of FRP-Confined Gangue Aggregate Concrete Partially Filled Steel Tube Columns

open access: yesBuildings
FRP-confined gangue aggregate concrete partially filled steel tubes (CGCPFTs) can not only effectively enhance the performance of coal gangue concrete, but also fully exploit the elastic-plastic mechanical behavior of the steel tubes.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Behaviour of Hybrid Steel and FRP-Reinforced Concrete—ECC Composite Columns under Reversed Cyclic Loading

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) is used widely in concrete structures owing to its noncorrosive, light-weight, nonmagnetic, and high tensile-strength properties.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Concrete - filled steel tube columns - tests compared with Eurocode 4 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This paper summarises the data from 1819 tests on concrete-filled steel tube columns and compares their failure load with the prediction of Eurocode 4. The full data is given on the website http://web.ukonline.co.uk/asccs2 .

The Evolution and Eddington Ratio Distribution of Compton Thick Active Galactic Nuclei

open access: yes, 2010
Previous studies of the active galactic nuclei (AGN) contribution to the cosmic X-ray background (CXB) consider only observable parameters such as luminosity and absorbing column.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Buckling of Slender Concrete-Filled Steel Tubes with Compliant Interfaces

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
This paper presents an exact model for studying the global buckling of concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns with compliant interfaces between the concrete core and steel tube.
