Magneto-resistance in three-dimensional composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we study the magneto-resistance, i.e. the second-order term of the resistivity perturbed by a low magnetic field, of a three-dimensional composite material.

Porous composite with negative thermal expansion obtained by photopolymer additive manufacturing

open access: yes, 2015
Additive manufacturing (AM) could be a novel method of fabricating composite and porous materials having various effective performances based on mechanisms of their internal geometries.

Analysis of comprehensive genomic profiling of solid tumors with a novel assay for broad analysis in clinical diagnostics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In molecular cancer diagnostics, comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) is going to replace the small NGS panels since it provides all clinically relevant somatic variants as well as genomic biomarkers with clinical value. Here, we compared two CGP assays and demonstrate that the choice for diagnostic implementation will depend on the specific ...

The effect of graphene solution on mixed powder electrical discharge milling of Ti6Al4V

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
Ti6Al4V is the most widely used materials in aerospace, medical, nuclear power and other fields. However, due to its unique properties such as low thermal conductivity, titanium alloy poses challenges in machining processes. Electrical discharge milling (

3D printed biomimetic epithelium/stroma bilayer hydrogel implant for corneal regeneration

open access: yesBioactive Materials, 2022
Corneal regeneration has always been a challenge due to its sophisticated structure and undesirable keratocyte-fibroblast transformation. Herein, we propose 3D printing of a biomimetic epithelium/stroma bilayer implant for corneal regeneration.

Response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in early breast cancers is associated with epithelial–mesenchymal transition and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are associated with early breast cancer response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). This study evaluated EMT and TIL shifts, with immunofluorescence and RNA sequencing, at diagnosis and in residual tumors as potential biomarkers associated with treatment response.

Light weight polymer matrix composite material [PDF]

open access: yes
A graphite fiber reinforced polymer matrix is layed up, cured, and thermally aged at about 750 F in the presence of an inert gas. The heat treatment improves the structural integrity and alters the electrical conductivity of the materials.

Mechanical Fasteners for Advanced Composite Materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
Advanced composite materials, which are increasingly being used to build aircraft, have different properties than the metals they replace. Fasteners intended for composite-material joints must be designed and selected to allow for these differences.

Molecular and functional profiling unravels targetable vulnerabilities in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We used whole exome and RNA‐sequencing to profile divergent genomic and transcriptomic landscapes of microsatellite stable (MSS) and microsatellite instable (MSI) colorectal cancer. Alterations were classified using a computational score for integrative cancer variant annotation and prioritization.
