Non destructive examination of composite structures using dielectric examination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Dielectric measurements are widely used in the laboratory to probe the dynamics of molecules, particularly the dynamics of polymer molecules. The dielectric technique exploits the fact that many molecules, although electrically neutral posses an ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

An Investigation into the Effect of Near-Fault Ground Motion Duration Parameters on the Nonlinear Seismic Response of Intake Towers

open access: yesBuildings
Intake towers, essential for hydraulic hub projects, are integral to maintaining safety and efficiency, especially under seismic conditions that are prevalent near fault zones.

Geometry generation principle and meshing properties of a new gear drive

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2018
The generation principle of composite cycloid is proposed for the tooth profile of external drive. Firstly, a two-link mechanism is developed as the equivalent mechanism to describe the geometric principle of cycloid by introducing the motion ...

Varying speed of light and field potential in the octonion spaces

open access: yes, 2018
The paper focuses on exploring the contribution of field potential on the speed of light. The octonions can be applied to study the physical quantities of electromagnetic and gravitational fields, including the transformation between two coordinate ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Nonlinear Dynamics of the High-Speed Rotating Plate

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2018
High speed rotating blades are crucial components of modern large aircraft engines. The rotating blades under working condition frequently suffer from the aerodynamic, elastic and inertia loads, which may lead to large amplitude nonlinear oscillations ...

Aspects of the Functional Renormalisation Group

open access: yes, 2005
We discuss structural aspects of the functional renormalisation group. Flows for a general class of correlation functions are derived, and it is shown how symmetry relations of the underlying theory are lifted to the regularised theory. A simple equation

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

The phylogenetic effective sample size and jumps

open access: yes, 2018
The phylogenetic effective sample size is a parameter that has as its goal the quantification of the amount of independent signal in a phylogenetically correlated sample. It was studied for Brownian motion and Ornstein-Uhlenbeck models of trait evolution.
