Improving Enzyme Fitness with Machine Learning

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2023
The combinatorial composition of proteins has triggered the application of machine learning in enzyme engineering. By predicting how protein sequence encodes function, researchers aim to leverage machine learning models to select a reduced number of ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Enhanced Engineering Teaching Through Computational Fluid Dynamics Software

open access: yesPublicaciones e Investigación, 2011
The chemical reaction engineering course, one of the cornerstones of chemical and even environmental engineering programs, has been taught through introductory courses that do not necessarily have into account non-ideal reactors concepts, which are the ...

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Analysis of deep learning neural network combined with experiments to develop predictive models for a propane vertical jet fire

open access: yesHeliyon, 2020
Fires are important responsible factors to cause catastrophic events in the process industries, whose consequences usually initiate domino effects. The artificial neural network has been shown to be one of the rapid methods to simulate processes in the ...
