Tetrahedral-mesh counterparts of ICRP reference computational phantoms.
Background / Aims: This talk is to introduce the new adult male and female mesh-type reference computational phantoms (MRCPs) recently developed in the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP), generally discussing their advantages over

An Eye Model for Computational Dosimetry Using A Multi-Scale Voxel Phantom
The lens of the eye is a radiosensitive tissue with cataract formation being the major concern. Recently reduced recommended dose limits to the lens of the eye have made understanding the dose to this tissue of increased importance.

Accelerated Brain Atrophy in Epilepsy: A Prospective Population‐Based Study
Objective Previous longitudinal neuroimaging studies suggest that epilepsy is a progressive disorder. To date, these findings have relied largely on populations from tertiary centers, resulting in ascertainment bias, as severely affected individuals are more likely to be rescanned.

Development of skeletal system for mesh-type ICRP reference adult phantoms.
The reference adult computational phantoms of the international commission on radiological protection (ICRP) described in Publication 110 are voxel-type computational phantoms based on whole-body computed tomography (CT) images of adult male and female ...

Abstract Muscle architecture is a major determinant of muscle performance and, in mammalian lineages, has been correlated with both feeding ecology and locomotor behaviors. Over the past decade, contrast‐enhanced micro‐CT (DiceCT) has emerged as an alternative to traditional dissection‐based measurement.

Scoping literature review: Comparing MRI tractography methods for optic radiation analysis
Abstract Accurate tractography mapping of the optic radiations is essential to avoiding post‐operative visual field deficits in patients undergoing temporal lobe surgery. This literature review highlights the current landscape of MRI tractography methods that are used to delineate the optic radiations (ORs), with a particular focus on the anterior ...

Show Me the Brain!!: A modern approach to neuroanatomy education
Abstract Show Me the Brain!! (SMtB) is a digital system for interactive graphics that is designed to support instruction in neuroanatomy and neuroscience. It will soon be made open‐source and freely available. SMtB bridges medical and traditional neuroanatomy instruction with the computational systems and representational conventions common in ...

What's a White Matter ‘Fiber’?
ABSTRACT White matter anatomy is investigated using methods that operate at markedly different spatial scales and rely on distinct biological and physical principles. Nevertheless, the term “fiber” is routinely applied to the outputs of tract‐tracing studies, diffusion MRI tractography, and postmortem fiber dissection, often as though these entities ...

We report a systematic study of β‐ketonitrile–modified Prodan‐type solvatochromic fluorophores. The β‐ketonitrile substitution induces marked bathochromic shifts in absorption and emission and significantly enhances fluorescence quantum yields in nonpolar solvents.

Graphite electrodes are revisited as strategically important carbon materials for electric arc furnace steelmaking. By correlating three‐dimensional microstructural complexity with fracture energy, this work reveals a fundamental trade‐off between graphitization and energy dissipation, providing a data‐driven framework for the rational redesign of ...
