Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Indeterminate pulmonary subsolid nodules in patients with no history of cancer: growing prediction, CT pattern, and pathological diagnosis

open access: yesDiagnostic and Interventional Radiology, 2022
PURPOSEWe aimed to evaluate and compare the growth patterns among pathological types of inde- terminate subsolid nodules in patients without a history of cancer as observed on computed tomography (CT).METHODSThis retrospective study included 77 ...

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...

Aplikasi Teknik Computed Tomography (CT) Scan Dalam Penelitian Porositas Tanah Dan Perkembangan Akar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
: Root development and water movement in the soil profile are highly affected by the shape, size and orientation of the soil pores. The high spatial and temporal variability of soil porosity required a quick and repeated non-distruptive technique to ...

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Fibre and failure characterization in long glass fibre reinforced polypropylene by X-ray computed tomography

open access: yesPolymer Testing
Long fibre reinforced thermoplastics (LFTs) have become important in recent years, due to outstanding mechanical properties (such as high strength, high stiffness, and excellent impact behaviour).
