Applied LPV Control with Full Block Multipliers and Regional Pole Placement

open access: yesJournal of Control Science and Engineering, Volume 2010, Issue 1, 2010., 2010
A formulation of an LPV control problem with regional pole placement constraints is presented, which is suitable for the application of a Full Block S‐Procedure. It is demonstrated that improved bounds can be obtained on the induced L2 norm of closed loop systems, while satisfying pole placement constraints.

Differential roles of JNK in ConA/GalN and ConA‐induced liver injury in mice

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, 2009
Tumor necrosis factor‐alpha‐mediated liver injury can be induced by several different means; however, the signaling events and mechanisms of cell death are likely different. We investigate the mechanism of apoptosis and necrosis as well as the role of c‐Jun NH2‐terminal kinase (JNK) in the ConA and ConA/GalN ...

Weaving for action: Transformative change in biodiversity monitoring

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 8, Issue 5, Page 1007-1020, May 2026.
Abstract The Post‐2020 Kunming‐Montreal Biodiversity Framework aims to drive transformative change to halt biodiversity loss. To track progress toward its goals and targets, a dedicated monitoring framework has been established. The current biodiversity monitoring framework relies on a set of indicators developed through a unidirectional process of ...

Carbon Reservoirs in Temperate South American Nothofagus Forests

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, Volume 2, Issue 1, Page 53-75, 2002., 2002
Humans are influencing the global carbon (C) cycle due to the combustion of fossil fuels and due to changes in land use management. These activities are fostering the manmade greenhouse effect and thus global climate change. Negative effects for life on earth are accounted for.

Abnormally Large Magma Flux Does Not Lead to Eruption in Subduction Zone Calderas: The 2022–2023 Episode of Uplift of Aniakchak Crater (Aleutians)

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
Abstract Observations of ground deformation provide insights on the triggering mechanisms of eruptions. At Aniakchak Crater (Aleutians) InSAR measured ∼ ${\sim} $72 cm of uplift in less than 7 months between 2022 and 2023. The uplift can be explained by the inflation of a point pressure source at a depth of 3.2 km.
