PRMT1‐Mediated LDHA Methylation Drives STAT3 Lactylation to Orchestrate Intestinal Inflammation and Tumorigenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies an immunometabolic axis wherein SAM‐driven PRMT1 methylates LDHA, enhancing its activity. The resultant lactate induces STAT3 K709 lactylation, which stabilizes an active conformation to promote STAT3 phosphorylation and IL‐10 expression.

Effect of concept cartoons used in teaching the mole concept

open access: yesNew Trends and Issues Proceedings on Humanities and Social Sciences, 2018
Visual materials that can be used in classes such as PowerPoint presentations, analogies, documentaries and concept cartoons appeal to more than one sense of students and thus enable them to be more active in the learning process and learn more permanently by structuring knowledge in their minds more easily.

Modulation of miR‐23b Wnt/β‐catenin Axis Strengthens Endothelial Barrier Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Early blood‐brain barrier (BBB) disruption contributes to stroke and CNS disease pathology. miR‐23b was identified as a regulator of BBB integrity in brain endothelial cells. Inhibition of miR‐23b enhanced barrier‐associated properties, promoted repair‐related signaling, and reduced BBB leakage in experimental stroke models, supporting further ...

Genetic predisposition to porto‐sinusoidal vascular disorder: A functional genomic‐based, multigenerational family study

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
A deleterious variant of FCHSD1 results in mTOR pathway overactivation and may cause porto‐sinusoidal vascular disorder (PSVD). The pedigree of the family demonstrated an autosomal dominant disease with variable expressivity. Whole‐genome sequencing and Sanger sequencing both validated the existence of the FCHSD1 variant and the heterozygosity of c ...

Using Cartoons to Enhance Engineering Course Concepts [PDF]

open access: yes2018 ASEE Annual Conference & Exposition Proceedings, 2020
Cartoons, while often associated with a younger audience, can assist some college engineering students in making relatable connections to course concepts and breaking down barriers to understanding. Intermediate engineering courses such as Dynamics and Fluid Mechanics, typically taken sophomore and junior year, contain numerous essential ideas that ...

The Development and Pilot Clinical Study of CD147 Targeted Antagonistic Peptide Probe for Tumor Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes [68Ga]Ga‐DOTA‐AP9 as a first‐in‐human CD147‐targeted PET tracer with favorable safety and specific tumor uptake. Tracer accumulation correlates with CD147 expression in patients, enabling noninvasive quantification of CD147‐positive malignancies.

A Humanized Anti‐gD Broadly Neutralizing Antibody Confers Complete Post‐Exposure Protection against Pseudorabies Virus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pseudorabies virus (PRV), an emerging zoonotic α‐herpesvirus, causes life‐threatening human encephalitis. We identified a broad‐spectrum neutralizing antibody 6F7 targeting PRV gD. It blocks gD‐Nectin‐1 binding and membrane fusion, inhibiting replication across all PRV variants, representing a promising candidate for anti‐PRV therapy.

SIRT6‐Mediated Deacetylation of ATF3 Promotes Silica‐Induced Lung Fibrosis by Enhancing its Nuclear Import via Binding to Importin α

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SIRT6‐mediated ATF3 acetylation drives MGARP transcription and mitochondrial dysfunction in macrophages, promoting macrophage senescence and pulmonary fibrosis. Mechanistically, HSP70/Importin α competitively binds to ATF3, modulating its nuclear translocation.
