MIS12 Is Required for Kinetochore‐Microtubule Attachment in Oocyte Meiosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A model depicting the role of MIS12 in K‐MT attachment during oocyte meiosis. The presence of MIS12 stabilizes bipolar K‐MT attachments by maintaining the function of NDC80 and its interaction with TUBB. This, in turn, promotes KNL1 assembly and subsequent SAC protein recruitment to kinetochores.

CauFinder: Steering Cell‐State and Phenotype Transitions by Causal Disentanglement Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CauFinder combines causal disentanglement modeling and network control to prioritize causal drivers of cell‐state transitions from observational transcriptomic data. The framework separates transition‐relevant signals from spurious associations, nominates intervention targets across biological and disease contexts, and identifies DAAM1 as an actionable

Conditional Probability

open access: yes, 2016
In elementary probability, the conditional probability of an event A given an event B is the ratio P(A ∩ B)/P(B), provided P(B)>0. Visualize the events as plane regions (rectangles here) and their probabilities as the areas of those regions.

Conditional forecasts in dynamic multivariate models [PDF]

open access: yes
In the existing literature, conditional forecasts in the vector autoregressive (VAR) framework have not been commonly presented with probability distributions or error bands. This paper develops Bayesian methods for computing such distributions or bands.

PLACING PROBABILITIES OF CONDITIONALS IN CONTEXT

open access: yesThe Review of Symbolic Logic, 2014
AbstractIn this paper I defend the tenability of the Thesis that the probability of a conditional equals the conditional probability of the consequent given the antecedent. This is done by adopting the view that the interpretation of a conditional may differ from context to context.

Condition‐Associated Pattern Extraction and Recovery From Multi‐Condition Single‐Cell RNA‐seq Data With CAPER

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Decoupling biological signals from unwanted variation in multi‑condition single‑cell RNA sequencing data remains challenging. CAPER disentangles condition‑associated biological effects from sample heterogeneity through matrix factorization, producing interpretable latent factors and a batch‑corrected expression matrix.

Adipocyte Myoglobin Is a Determinant of Energy Expenditure and a Potential Target to Limit Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Myoglobin, known as a muscle oxygen‐carrying protein, is shown to play a key role in fat cells that burn energy. Loss of myoglobin reduces the body's ability to generate heat and increases obesity risk, while restoring it improves metabolism. The study identifies myoglobin as a regulator of fat burning and a potential target to enhance energy ...
