Non-continuous Percoll density gradient: a method for purifying Mycobacterium tuberculosis from dust [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Infectious Diseases
Background Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) retains infectivity for 8–10 days in dry dust and survives up to 6–8 months in humid environments. Dust accumulated in ventilation systems and air-conditioning filters serves as a critical reservoir for MTB ...

Integrals Involving Product of Polynomials and Daubechies Scale Functions [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics Interdisciplinary Research, 2021
In this paper, we will introduce an algorithm for obtaining integrals of the form ∫x0 tm φ(t)dt, m ∈ N ∪ {0}, where φ is the scaling functions of Daubechies wavelet.

Research progress on the effect of water types on H2 production in cement solidification treatment

open access: yesFushe yanjiu yu fushe gongyi xuebao, 2021
In this article, we made a comprehensive discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of cementitious matrices for low-and intermediate-level nuclear waste conditioning, reviewed the effects of water type (i.e., adsorbed water, trapped water, pore ...

Non-Muscle Myosin II Isoforms Have Different Functions in Matrix Rearrangement by MDA-MB-231 Cells. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
The role of a stiffening extra-cellular matrix (ECM) in cancer progression is documented but poorly understood. Here we use a conditioning protocol to test the role of nonmuscle myosin II isoforms in cell mediated ECM arrangement using collagen ...

First Report of the Joint Exposure to Glyphosate and Glufosinate of a Male Population in the Province of Córdoba (Argentina)

open access: yesToxics, 2023
Despite potential health implications, data on the presence of Glyphosate (GLY) and other non-GLY herbicides in human matrices remain scarce. This study aimed to develop a simple and cost-effective methodology for detecting and quantifying GLY, its ...

On the preconditioning of the primal form of TFOV-based image deblurring model

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
To address the staircasing problem in deblurred images generated by a simple total variation (TV) based model, one approach is to use the total fractional-order variation (TFOV) image deblurring model.

2D Newton Schwarz Legendre Collocation Method for a Convection Problem

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
In this work, an alternate Schwarz domain decomposition method is proposed to solve a Rayleigh–Bénard problem. The problem is modeled with the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations coupled with a heat equation in a rectangular domain.

Conditioning the microenvironment for soft tissue regeneration in a cell free scaffold

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
The use of cell-free scaffolds for the regeneration of clinically relevant volumes of soft tissue has been challenged, particularly in the case of synthetic biomaterials, by the difficulty of reconciling the manufacturing and biological performance ...

Condition Numbers of Random Triangular Matrices [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications, 1998
It is shown that the 2-norm condition number of a lower triangular matrix of dimension \(n\), whose entries come from an independent normal variable of mean 0 and variance 1, grows exponentially with \(n\). This is in striking contrast to the linear growth of the condition number of random dense matrices.
