A Direct Eigenanalysis of Multibody System in Equilibrium
This paper presents a direct eigenanalysis procedure for multibody system in equilibrium. The first kind Lagrange’s equation of the dynamics of multibody system is a set of differential algebraic equations, and the equations can be used to solve the ...

Condition Number Estimation of Preconditioned Matrices
The present paper introduces a condition number estimation method for preconditioned matrices. The newly developed method provides reasonable results, while the conventional method which is based on the Lanczos connection gives meaningless results. The Lanczos connection based method provides the condition numbers of coefficient matrices of systems of ...

Eigenvalues and Condition Numbers of Complex Random Matrices [PDF]
The distributions of the eigenvalues and condition numbers of complex random matrices are studied. These distributions are represented by complex hypergeometric functions of matrix arguments, expressed in terms of complex zonal polynomials for which several results are presented.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

The geometric mean of two matrices from a computational viewpoint [PDF]
The geometric mean of two matrices is considered and analyzed from a computational viewpoint. Some useful theoretical properties are derived and an analysis of the conditioning is performed.

Extension of Information Geometry to Non-statistical Systems: Some Examples
Our goal is to extend information geometry to situations where statistical modeling is not obvious. The setting is that of modeling experimental data. Quite often the data are not of a statistical nature.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Kinematic Comparisons of Hybrid Mechanisms for Bone Surgery: 3-PRP-3-RPS and 3-RPS-3-PRP
This paper proposes an approach to derive the Jacobian matrix of a hybrid mechanism by applying a velocity operator to the transformation matrix. This Jacobian matrix is capable of deducing hybrid singularities, which cannot be identified by using the ...
