Cosmology as a CFT1

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We show that the simplest FLRW cosmological system consisting in the homo- geneous and isotropic massless Einstein-Scalar system enjoys a hidden conformal symmetry under the 1D conformal group SL(2, ℝ) acting as Mobius transformations in proper time ...

Lifting a Conformal Field Theory from D-Dimensional Flat Space to (D+1)-Dimensional Ads Space

open access: yes, 2004
A quantum field theory on Anti-de-Sitter space can be constructed from a conformal field theory on its boundary Minkowski space by an inversion of the holographic mapping. To do this the conformal field theory must satisfy certain constraints.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Testing conformal mapping with kitchen aluminum foil

open access: yes, 2016
We report an experimental verification of conformal mapping with kitchen aluminum foil. This experiment can be reproduced in any laboratory by undergraduate students and it is therefore an ideal experiment to introduce the concept of conformal mapping ...

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Inhomogeneous dielectrics: conformal mapping and finite-element models

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2017
Field singularities in electrostatic and magnetostatic fields require special attention in field calculations, and today finite element methods are normally used, both in homogeneous and in inhomogeneous dielectric cases.

PROSPECTS OF WIDER USE OF THE OF COMPLEMENTARITY AND CONGRUENCE CONCEPT IN PRACTICAL MEDICINE

open access: yesMedična Informatika ta Inženerìâ, 2015
It was discussed the possibility of widespread use of the complementarity and congruence concepts in medicine. It is proposed to use a simple functional to formalize therapeutic strategy is a reflection of the diagnostic and follow-conformal mapping ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
