Optimization of Conformal Mapping Functions used in Developing Closed-Form Solutions for Underground Structures with Conventional cross Sections [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining and Geo-Engineering, 2015
Elastic solutions applicable to single underground openings usually suffer from geometry related simplification. Most tunnel shapes possess two axes of symmetry while a wide range of geometries used in tunneling practice involve only one symmetry axis. D-

The approximate conformal mapping onto multiply connected domains

open access: yesПроблемы анализа, 2019
The method of boundary curve reparametrization is generalized to the case of multiply connected domains. We construct the approximate analytical conformal mapping of the unit disk with N circular slits or an annulus with (N - 1) circular slits onto an ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

The Conformal-mapping Method for Surface Gravity Waves in the Presence of Variable Bathymetry and Mean Current

open access: yes, 2014
The conformal mapping formulation for the free-surface Euler equations in the presence of non homogeneous, yet stationary bathymetry is here derived and numerically implemented.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Geometric engineering of pinning arrays in superconductor tapes for critical current density enhancement using conformal transformation

open access: yesAIP Advances
In this study, we investigate the influence of pinning forces and conformal mapping parameters on the critical current density of superconductor tapes. By applying dual conformal transformations to triangular pinning arrays, we utilize molecular dynamics

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.
