Design and mechanical properties analysis of a novel CFRP tendons anchorage structure

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal
To address the challenges of larger size, stress concentration at the loading end, and insufficient anchoring performance at the free end of traditional bonding-type anchors for Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) tendons, a novel anchor featuring a ...

Recycling of NiTi Shape Memory Alloys: Fundamental and Technological Aspects of a Vacuum Induction Melting Processing Route

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.

Perelman's functionals on manifolds with non-isolated conical singularities

open access: yes, 2023
In this article, we define Perelman's functionals on manifolds with non-isolated conical singularities by starting from a spectral point of view for the Perelman's $\lambda$-functional.

A new ichnotaxonomic name for burrows in vertebrate coprolites from the Miocene Chesapeake Group of Maryland, U.S.A

open access: yesSwiss Journal of Palaeontology, 2022
A new ichnotaxonomic name, Transexcrementum cuniculus, is applied to tubular (cylindrical) tunnelings in coprolites. The type series of T. cuniculus consists of burrowed vertebrate (probably crocodilian) coprolites that originate from the Miocene ...

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Analysis and Testing of a Launch-Vehicle-Like Composite Conical–Cylindrical Shell [PDF]

open access: yes
Launch-vehicle shell structures, which can be composed of both cylindrical and conical sections, are known to be susceptible to buckling due to their large radius-to-thickness ratios.

Método para Obtener los Elementos de las Secciones Cónicas por Medio de Derivación Implícita

open access: yesTecnoLógicas, 2007
As a result of the research project "Strategies for differential calculus meaningful teaching and learning", this paper shows an alternative method to find simplified expressions to determine coordinates and equations for conical sections with focal axis

Enhancing Bubble Removal in Geometry‐Optimized Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
3D‐printed lattice electrodes outperform stochastic foams in alkaline water electrolysis despite 20%–25% lower surface area. Straight flow channels generate Venturi‐like bubble entrainment, suppressing gas accumulation that renders foam interiors electrochemically inactive.

Starlike and convex functions with respect to symmetric conjugate points involving conical domain

open access: yes, 2018
Enough attentions to domains related to conical sections has not been done so far although it deserves more. Making use of the conical domain the authors have defined a new class of starlike and Convex Functions with respect to symmetric points involving

EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL STUDY OF THE SWIRLING FLOW IN CONICAL DIFFUSERS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Science and Technology, 2014
The aim of the present work is to analyse experimental and numerically the swirling turbulent flow in conical diffusers. The experimental part is made with Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), where two geometries 5 and 10° semi-angles are analysed.
