Transformation of Epichloë typhina by electroporation of conidia [PDF]
Abstract Background Choke, caused by the endophytic fungus Epichloë typhina, is an important disease affecting orchardgrass (Dactylis glomerata L.) seed production in the Willamette Valley. Little is known concerning the conditions necessary for successful infection of orchardgrass by E. typhina.

Germination of Aspergillus fumigatus inside avian respiratory macrophages is associated with cytotoxicity [PDF]
Although aspergillosis is one of the most common diseases in captive birds, the pathogenesis of avian aspergillosis is poorly known. We studied the role of avian respiratory macrophages as a first line of defense against avian aspergillosis.

Entomophthora Conidia in the Air-spora [PDF]
SUMMARY: At Silwood Park, Berkshire, in 1958, the largest concentration of each of five ‘types’ of Entomophthora conidia in the air typically occurred at 05.00 to 07.00 h. and was associated with humid air and sunrise. The smallest concentration occurred between 14.00 and 17.00 h. when the air was usually driest.

A Chickpea NCR Peptide Suppresses Postharvest Alternaria alternata Infection by Disrupting Fungal Membranes, Mitochondria and Respiration. [PDF]
NCR13_PFV2 triggers fungal death via membrane disruption, mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress. This multi‐target plant peptide is a potent bio‐alternative to synthetic fungicides. ABSTRACT Postharvest fungal diseases cause substantial losses in horticultural crops and are commonly managed using chemical fungicides, which raise concerns ...
