Atherosclerosis, a noncommunicable disease caused by cholesterol plaque, can cause chronic diseases. The antiplatelet medicines used in its treatment can cause complications. Marine collagen peptides can be used as a natural atherosclerosis remedy.

Hermitian conjugate measurement
We propose a new class of probabilistic reversing operations on the state of a system that was disturbed by a weak measurement. It can approximately recover the original state from the disturbed state especially with an additional information gain using ...

The Atg12-Atg5 Conjugate Has a Novel E3-like Activity for Protein Lipidation in Autophagy*
Autophagy is a bulk degradation process in eukaryotic cells; autophagosomes enclose cytoplasmic components for degradation in the lysosome/vacuole. Autophagosome formation requires two ubiquitin-like conjugation systems, the Atg12 and Atg8 systems, which

Mapping Synapses by Conjugate Light-Electron Array Tomography
Synapses of the mammalian CNS are diverse in size, structure, molecular composition, and function. Synapses in their myriad variations are fundamental to neural circuit development, homeostasis, plasticity, and memory storage. Unfortunately, quantitative

Cyclic nucleotide signaling as a drug target in retinitis pigmentosa
Disruptions in cGMP and cAMP signaling can contribute to retinal dysfunction and photoreceptor loss in retinitis pigmentosa. This perspective examines the mechanisms and evaluates emerging evidence on targeting these pathways as a potential therapeutic strategy to slow or prevent retinal degeneration.

Sequential Importance Sampling for Online Bayesian Changepoint Detection [PDF]
Online detection of abrupt changes in the parameters of a generative model for a time series is useful when modelling data in areas of application such as finance, robotics, and biometrics.

An immunosuppressive antibody-drug conjugate.
We have developed a novel antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) that can selectively deliver the Lck inhibitor dasatinib to human T lymphocytes. This ADC is based on a humanized antibody that selectively binds with high affinity to CXCR4, an antigen that is ...

TRAF2 binds to TIFA via a novel motif and contributes to its autophagic degradation
TRAF family members couple receptor signalling complexes to downstream outputs, but how they interact with these complexes is not always clear. Here, we show that during ADP‐heptose signalling, TRAF2 binding to TIFA requires two short sequence motifs in the C‐terminal tail of TIFA, which are distinct from the TRAF6 binding motif.

Exposure to common noxious agents (1), including allergens, pollutants, and micro‐nanoplastics, can cause epithelial barrier damage (2) in our body's protective linings. This may trigger an immune response to our microbiome (3). The epithelial barrier theory explains how this process can lead to chronic noncommunicable diseases (4) affecting organs ...

Frequency translating phase conjugation circuit for active retrodirective antenna array [PDF]
An active retrodirective antenna array which has central phasing from a reference antenna element through a "tree" structured network of transmission lines utilizes a number of phase conjugate circuits (PCCs) at each node and a phase reference ...
