New step lengths in conjugate gradient methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Consider any conjugate gradient method for finding a zero point of a given gradient whose function is implicit. We propose two different types of conditions for selecting the step length using the gradient information only.

AscF in the mycobacterial CIII–CIV supercomplex lacks metal and nucleotide binding but links malate oxidation to respiration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The mycobacterial CIII‐CIV respiratory supercomplex is an obligate assembly, encompassing several subunits of unknown functions. We have characterized the intracellular subunit AscF, and show that it is unlikely to be a sensor for metals or nucleotides, but is required for growth on nonfermentable energy sources, and likely works as an adapter for ...

The new spectral conjugate gradient method for large-scale unconstrained optimisation

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2020
The spectral conjugate gradient methods are very interesting and have been proved to be effective for strictly convex quadratic minimisation. In this paper, a new spectral conjugate gradient method is proposed to solve large-scale unconstrained ...

Nonlinear conjugate gradient method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
V této práci studujeme nelineární metody sdružených gradientů pro nepodmíněnou optimalizaci. Uvádíme možnosti a limity stávajících metod nepodmíněné optimalizace.

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Stability Analysis Of Continuous Conjugate Gradient Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Flexible Conjugate Gradient [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We analyze the conjugate gradient method with preconditioning slightly variable from one iteration to the next. To maintain the optimal convergence properties, we consider a variant proposed by Axelsson that performs an explicit orthogonalization of the ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

An Adaptive MultiPreconditioned Conjugate Gradient Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2016
Summary: This article introduces and analyzes a new adaptive algorithm for solving symmetric positive definite linear systems in cases where several preconditioners are available or the usual preconditioner is a sum of contributions. A new theoretical result allows us to select, at each iteration, whether a classical preconditioned conjugate gradient ...
