Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Serum YKL-40 levels and disease characteristics in patients with rheumatoid arthritis
Background: The present study aimed to evaluate serum YKL-40 levels in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) compared to healthy subjects and to search whether there is an association between YKL-40 levels and disease characteristics in RA. Methods: In

Healing cells in the dermis and adipose tissues of the adult pig [PDF]
Stage-specific antigen-4 (SSEA-4) positive cells and carcinoembryonic antigen-cell adhesion molecule-1 (CEACAM-1)positive cells, indicative of pluripotent stem cells and totipotent stem cells, respectively, have beenisolated and characterized from the ...

Neutrophilic Skin Lesions in Autoimmune Connective Tissue Diseases
The pathophysiology of neutrophilic dermatoses (NDs) and autoimmune connective tissue diseases (AICTDs) is incompletely understood. The association between NDs and AICTDs is rare; recently, however, a distinctive subset of cutaneous lupus erythematosus ...

The PI3Kδ inhibitor roginolisib (IOA‐244) preserves T‐cell function and activity
Identification of novel PI3K inhibitors with limited immune‐related adverse effects is highly sought after. We found that roginolisib and idelalisib inhibit chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells and Treg suppressive functions to similar extents, but roginolisib affects cytotoxic T‐cell function and promotion of pro‐inflammatory T helper subsets to a

Gender and Ocular Manifestations of Connective Tissue Diseases and Systemic Vasculitides
Ocular manifestations are present in many connective tissue diseases which are characterized by an immune system that is directed against self. In this paper, we review the ocular findings in various connective tissue diseases and systemic vasculitides ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

High Prevalence of Cold Intolerance in Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Case–Control Study
Cold intolerance is more common in rheumatoid arthritis patients than control. Cold intolerance tends to develop after rheumatoid arthritis onset and is associated with longer disease duration, with pain and swelling being dominant features.
