Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

On Hadamard stability and dissipative stability of the molecular stress function model of non-linear viscoelasticity [PDF]
International audienceWe study the stability characteristics of the Molecular Stress Function MSF) model, i.e. a constitutive theory based on molecular arguments that extends the original Doi-Edwards theory to the case of branched polymers and without ...

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

INTRINSIC VARIABLES OF CONSTITUTIVE EQUATION [PDF]
Necessarily, investigation of the possibility of constitutive equations assumed to be of differential equation shape leads to the conclusion that, in addition to the assumed functions, the constitutive equations contain also so-called intrinsic variables.

High temperature flow behavior and constitutive model of 35CrMo steel
In order to describe the stress-strain relationship of 35CrMo steel and establish constitutive model of material, the high temperature thermal simulation compression experiment of hot rolled 35CrMo steel is conducted by the Gleeble3800 thermal simulation

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.
