Versatile vector tools for efficient protein screening across multiple expression systems
A unified vector toolkit enables rapid protein expression screening across E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells. A single primer pair amplifies the target gene, which is inserted into any vector via a standardized interface. This streamlined workflow eliminates repeated cloning steps, accelerating the identification of optimal expression conditions for

Detecting constraint redundancy in 0-1 linear programming problems
In this paper we present a procedure for obtaining upper bounds on a linear function by means of certain families of packings, coverings and special ordered sets.

Timetabling in constraint logic programming
In this paper we describe the timetabling problem and its solvability in a Constraint Logic Programming Language. A solution to the problem has been developed and implemented in ECLiPSe, since it deals with finite domains, it has well-defined ...

The energy scheduling problem: Industrial case-study and constraint propagation techniques [PDF]
This paper deals with production scheduling involving energy constraints, typically electrical energy. We start by an industrial case-study for which we propose a two-step integer/constraint programming method.

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Breaking conditional symmetry in automated constraint modelling with CONJURE [PDF]
This work was supported by UK EPSRC EP/K015745/1. Jefferson is supported by a Royal Society University Research Fellowship. Many constraint problems contain symmetry, which can lead to redundant search.

Interactivity in Constraint Programming [PDF]
During the last few years, thanks to the faster, smaller, cheaper personal computers and well-developed, user friendly software, the interactive behaviour is more and more requested. In this paper, we will discuss what impacts the interactivity can have on CSP.

Pathways and pitfalls: a qualitative study of student experiences in biomedical science education
Biomedical science students from underrepresented backgrounds face barriers including financial strain, disrupted laboratory access and cultural exclusion. Peer networks provide vital support when institutional systems are difficult to navigate. To create inclusive learning environments and achieve academic success, educators should blend active, hands‐
