Induced junction solar cell and method of fabrication [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
An induced junction solar cell is fabricated on a p-type silicon substrate by first diffusing a grid of criss-crossed current collecting n+ stripes and thermally growing a thin SiO2 film, and then, using silicon-rich chemical vapor deposition (CVD ...

Effect of quantum interference in the nonlinear conductance of microconstrictions

open access: yes, 2000
The influence of the interference of electron waves, which were scattered by single impurities, on nonlinear quantum conductance of metallic microconstrictions (as was recently investigated experimentally) is studied theoretically.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Short-circuit current improvement in thin cells with a gridded back contact [PDF]

open access: yes
The use of gridded back contact on thin silicon solar cells 50 micrometers was investigated. An unexpected increase in short circuit current of almost 10 percent was experienced for 2 cm x 2 cm cells.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Decays, contact P-wave interactions and hyperfine structure in Omega- exotic atoms

open access: yes, 2008
Contact $P$-wave interactions connected to the Larmor interaction of a magnetic dipole and Thomas spin precession in the filed of an electric quadrupole are described and their implications for spectroscopy of exotic $\Omega^{-}$-atoms are studied.

Improved Contact Predictions Using the Recognition of Protein Like Contact Patterns

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2014
Given sufficient large protein families, and using a global statistical inference approach, it is possible to obtain sufficient accuracy in protein residue contact predictions to predict the structure of many proteins. However, these approaches do not consider the fact that the contacts in a protein are neither randomly, nor independently distributed ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
