Influence of Casing Wear on Sealing Performance of Packer

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2021
In the process of drilling oil and gas wells in western China, severe casing wear occurred in many ultra-deep wells; however, in some special cases, the packer had to be set in the casing wear interval.

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Ultrasonic Detection Method for Sealing Performance of Special Thread Tubing

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2021
The size and distribution of contact pressure on the sealing surface of special thread tubing have an important impact on its sealing performance. In this paper, pressure was applied on the double rough surface to simulate the contact process of sealing ...

Impact of Asymptomatic Intracranial Hemorrhage on Outcome After Endovascular Stroke Treatment

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Endovascular treatment (EVT) achieves high rates of recanalization in acute large‐vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke, but functional recovery remains heterogeneous. While symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) has been well studied, the prognostic impact of asymptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (aICH) after EVT is less certain ...

Interface roughness effect on friction map under fretting contact conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In many industrial applications where fretting damage is observed in the contact (e.g. rotor/blade, electrical contacts, assembly joint, axe/wheel, clutch) the external loadings or geometry design cannot be changed. Therefore, the surface preparation and

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Non-Contact Assessment of Blood Pressure Pulse Wave by Means of Vibrocardiography

open access: yes, 2015
Central Blood Pressure (BP) has a well-known predictive value for many cardiovascular pathologies. The carotid artery pressure pulse is related to BP and can be measured without contact by Vibrocardiography (VCG), the vibrational signal associated to the

Stamina of a non-gasketed flange joint under combined internal pressure, axial and bending loading : an experimental study

open access: yes, 2009
The performance of a bolted flange joint is characterized mainly by its 'strength' and 'sealing capability'. A number of numerical and experimental studies have been conducted to study these characteristics under internal pressure loading conditions alone.
