Impact Analysis of Interface Thermal Conductivity on Pantograph-Catenary Contact Temperature Rise

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
[Objective] The interface temperature rise caused by PC (pantograph-catenary) contact in electric trains can accelerate the wear of pantograph strips, thereby increasing the maintenance costs of rail transit systems.

Effect on oxides on surface topography and thermal contact resistance [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
The effect of oxides on the topographies of various random engineering surfaces and steady-state thermal contact resistances between oxidefree and oxidized metallic surfaces in contact in high vacua have been investigated. The results of many previous

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Investigation of contact resistivity for Au–Ti–Pd–n-Si ohmic contacts for impatt diodes

open access: yesTekhnologiya i Konstruirovanie v Elektronnoi Apparature, 2015
Both contact resistivity of Au–Ti–Pd–n-Si ohmic contact and mechanism of current flow are studied in the 100 – 360 K temperature range. A method is proposed for reduction of error in determination of contact resistivity based on analysis of statistical ...

Some perspectives on modelling the effect of temperature on the erosion-corrosion of Fe in aqueous conditions

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, a model is generated of the effect of temperature on the erosion-corrosion of Fe in aqueous conditions, for room temperature to 373K. The results indicate how the transition from active to passivation dominated regimes for Fe are favoured ...

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Research on the Contact and Temperature Field Distribution Characteristic of the Saddle-shaped Buckling Deformation in Hydro-viscous Friction Pair

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2022
The saddle-shaped buckling deformation is the main thermal buckling deformation mode of the friction pairs in the hydro-viscous clutch. The equivalent model of contact deformation is established to obtain the contact and temperature field distribution ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Liquid-solid contact behavior of a minute liquid droplet impinging on a hot solid surface (Translated)

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal
The dynamic contact behavior of a minute liquid droplet upon collision with a high-temperature solid is investigated using total reflection imaging. An inkjet water droplet collides with a high temperature surface of a sapphire prism (and a quartz glass ...

High temperature indentation of WC/Co hardmetals

open access: yes, 2013
WC/Co is the material of choice for most high wear applications such as hot forming operations, drilling, cutting, machining and wire drawing due to its superior wear properties.
