A Calibration System for Surface Temperature Sensors

open access: yes, 2008
The calibration of contact surface temperature probes greatly depends on the interaction between the sensor and the reference measurement surface. A dedicated calibration system for such probes has been developed at IMGC.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Considerations Regarding the Effects of Temperature Increase on the Hardness of Materials in Friction Couplings with Sliding Motion

open access: yesScientific Bulletin of Valahia University: Materials and Mechanics
The temperature on the surfaces in sliding motion changes as a result of the operating conditions. The temperature distribution generated during the friction process depends on the forces generated in operation, the speed of sliding, the topography of ...

A review of conducting polymers in electrical contact applications

open access: yes, 2007
A review of recent developments in fretting studies in electrical contacts is presented, focusing on developments in conducting polymer surfaces. Fretting is known to be a major cause of contact deterioration and failure; commonly exhibited as the ...

Validity of a Wearable Digital Insole for Assessing Gait ON and OFF in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Gait impairment is a distinctive symptom of Parkinson's disease that negatively impact mobility. We assessed the validity of wearable digital insoles against a validated reference gait analysis system for measuring select gait characteristics in patients with Parkinson's disease. Methods A comparative analysis between digital insoles

Evaluation of heat localization behaviour on brake disk rubbing surface (Proposal of reproducing surface temperature by FEM analysis)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2017
Frictional heat is generated on the rubbing surface and various types of thermal localization occur during sliding contact in braking on disk and pad surfaces.

Epilepsy‐Associated Variants of a Single SCN1A Codon Exhibit Divergent Functional Properties

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants in SCN1A, which encodes the voltage‐gated sodium channel NaV1.1, are associated with multiple epilepsy syndromes exhibiting a range of clinical severity. SCN1A variants are reported in different syndromes, including Dravet syndrome, which is associated with loss‐of‐function, whereas neonatal/infantile‐onset ...

Influenza Vaccination Responses in Disabled Stroke Patients: A Single‐Center Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to investigate the immunological response to influenza vaccination, the incidence and severity of influenza infection, and the side effects of the vaccination in patients with ischemic stroke. Methods This prospective observational study was conducted between 2023 and 2024 at Ramathibodi Hospital.
