Quantitative Analysis of Monosodium Glutamate using Continuous Wave Terahertz Spectroscopy

Optical Sensors and Sensing Congress, 2020
A continuous-wave terahertz system was used to determine the concentration of monosodium glutamate. A significant absorption peak at 1.55 THz was observed and a calibration technique is proposed for the rapid estimation of its concentration.

Practical Guidelines for Continuous Wave Terahertz Spectroscopy - Perspectives and Challenges in Stand-off Detection

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, we discuss practical aspects of continuous wave frequency-domain terahertz spectroscopy measurements. We highlight benefits of using various detection schemes and system configurations.

Continuous Wave Achromatic Thermal Lens Spectroscopy

Applied Spectroscopy, 2007
We present a mode-mismatched continuous wave (cw) achromatic thermal lens experiment in which the pump beam is focused in the presence of a collimated probe beam. This scheme presents a distinct advantage over mode-matched thermal lens experimental methods in that it considerably reduces chromatic aberrations.

Continuous wave photothermal deflection spectroscopy in a flowing medium

Applied Optics, 1988
A complete and rigorous theoretical treatment of the continuous wave photothermal deflection spectroscopy in a flowing medium is given. The theoretical results have been verified experimentally.

Continuous-wave spectroscopy of femtosecond carrier scattering in GaAs

Physical Review B, 1990

Periodically locked continuous-wave cavity ringdown spectroscopy

Applied Optics, 2003
We demonstrate a simple periodically locked cw cavity ringdown spectroscopy technique that enables a very large number of ringdown events to be rapidly acquired. An external cavity diode laser is locked to a high-finesse cavity, and as many as 16,000 ringdown events per second are obtained by periodically switching off the light entering the high ...

Continuous-wave Rayleigh–Brillouin-gain spectroscopy in SF_6

Optics Letters, 1987
We have obtained cw Rayleigh-Brillouin-gain spectra of SF(6) for both forward and backward scattering geometry with high spectral resolution. The spectral resolution is better than 4 MHz, and a Brillouin-frequency shift as small as 42 MHz is clearly resolved. Extension of the present technique to other studies is discussed.

Continuous wave THz spectroscopy of solids

2007 Joint 32nd International Conference on Infrared and Millimeter Waves and the 15th International Conference on Terahertz Electronics, 2007
Low-energy excitations in solids are among the most fascinating fields in condensed matter physics, albeit one of the most challenging. Here we highlight some aspects explored in recent years, e.g. collective phenomena in broken symmetry ground states, electrodynamics of the superconducting state, localization effects due to electronic and magnetic ...
