Numerical simulation of coal breaking characteristics by continuous water jet based on ALE algorithm

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan
In order to explore the influence of environmental media on the characteristics of water jet coal breaking, ALE algorithm and LS-Dyna software are used to carry out numerical simulation of continuous water jet impact coal breaking and the characteristics

Jet Schemes, Newton Polygons and Continued Fractions

open access: yes
We study jet schemes of Newton non-degenerate plane curve singularities. We identify a subgraph of the graph of jet components and show that it can be constructed from walks on the lattice points in the first quadrant of the Cartesian plane. In particular, we determine all the irreducible components of the jet schemes.

Continuing a Chandra Survey of Quasar Radio Jets

open access: yes, 2004
We are conducting an X-ray survey of flat spectrum radio quasars (FSRQs) with extended radio structures. We summarize our results from the first stage of our survey, then we present findings from its continuation. We have discovered jet X-ray emission from 12 of our first 20 Chandra targets, establishing that strong 0.5-7.0 keV emission is a common ...

Atmospheric and submerged bone cement erosion by a pulsating water jet with a straight tubular nozzle extension

open access: yesScientific Reports
A pulsating water jet (PWJ) offers advantages over a continuous water jet, such as lower liquid volume flows and pressures for deeper cuts. However, traditional PWJ setups are unsuitable for minimally invasive surgeries due to their size.

Stiff Columns as Liquefaction Mitigation Measure for Retrofit of Existing Buildings [PDF]

open access: yesMehran University Research Journal of Engineering and Technology, 2012
In this paper, ground reinforcement with jet grouted columns under shallow foundations of existing buildings was analysed using numerical modelling.

Comprehensive experimental dataset on large-amplitude Rayleigh-Plateau instability in continuous InkJet printing regime

open access: yesData in Brief
The Rayleigh-Plateau instability, a phenomenon of paramount significance in fluid dynamics, finds widespread application in the Continuous InkJet (CIJ) printing process.

COANDA SURFACE EFFECT ON THE SWEEPING JET ACTUATOR

open access: yesHavacılık ve Uzay Teknolojileri Dergisi, 2018
A sweeping jet (SWJ) actuator emits a continuous but spatially oscillating jet when pressurized with a fluid. In this study, unsteady flow fields generated by a SWJ actuator are investigated using two-dimensional, unsteady, Reynolds-Averaged Navier ...

Self-induced vibration of impinging synthetic jets

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology
While numerous studies have examined self-induced vibrations in jets, the focus has predominantly been on continuous jets. Reports on self-induced vibrations in synthetic jets, which are characterized by their excited-vibration frequencies, are limited ...

Archaeological Finds of Jet from Norway

open access: yesCollegium Medievale, 2005
The point of departure for this article is the find of half of a finger ring of jet from the archaeological excavations at VesleH jerkinn, Dovre, Oppland.
